ROAD is set in a small Lancashire working class town whose inhabitants are railing against the economic hardships increasingly nipping at their heels. Simon Curtis staged Jim Cartwright’s funny and biting play as a “promenade” from house to house along the road and gives the audience the opportunity to observe the obsessions, arguments, humor, and despair played out within each home.
