LCT: Falsettos, Elegies: A Song Cycle, A New Brain (with James Lapine; Outer Critics Circle Award: Best Musical). Has written/composed In Trousers (L.A. Drama Critics Award), Falsettos (two Tony Awards: Best Book and Best Original Score), March of the Falsettos (Outer Critics Circle Award, L.A. Drama Critics Award: Outstanding Musical), Falsettoland (two Drama Desk Awards; Lucille Lortel Award: Best Musical), Romance in Hard Times (The Public), The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (book by Rachel Sheinkin; has been performed on Broadway, across the U.S. and internationally), Little Miss Sunshine (book by James Lapine). He has also written lyrics for Tango Apasionado, an unseen dramatic piece with dance by Graciela Daniel with music by the great Astor Piazzolla. Education: Williams College (Hutchinson Fellowship in Musical Composition). He teaches a master class at NYU’s Graduate Musical Theatre Writing Program. Under his mentorship, ten world premiere musicals and six workshops have been produced in the Musical Theatre Lab at Barrington Stage Company.
