Taj Mahal

Composer, multi-instrumentalist, vocalist and actor. Mr. Mahal is one of the most prominent and influential figures in blues and roots music. LCT: Mule Bone (music). Albums include Taj Mahal, The Natch'l Blues, Giant Step, Happy to Be Just Like I Am, Recycling the Blues and Other Related Stuff, Mo' Roots, Taj, Dancing the Blues, Phantom Blues, Kulanjan, Hanapepe Dream, Zanzibar and the Grammy winning Señor Blues and Shoutin' in Key, as well as movie soundtracks for Sounder and Zebrahead and several children's albums. Celebrated 40 years of recording in 2008 with the release of album Maestro. In all he has garnered nine Grammy nominations. He also produces albums for other artists and continues to tour internationally.
