Lucy Alibar
LCT3: Throw Me on the Burnpile and Light Me Up. Lucy Alibar is a screenwriter, playwright, and novelist. Her film, Beasts Of The Southern Wild, which she co-wrote with Behn Zeitlin, and is based on her original play, Juicy and Delicious, was distributed by Fox Searchlight, won the Narrative Grand Jury Prize at the Sundance Film Festival, won the Humanitas Award and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay. Her movie Troupe Zero with Viola Davis and Allison Janney will premiere at the Sundance Film Festival in 2019 (Amazon), Bat Kid (New Line), The Secret Garden (Guillermo del Toro and Disney), Swan Lake (Mark Johnson and Disney.) She was proud to work on the 2016 Election PSA “We Trump Hate” for Missing Pieces, Tucker Walsh, and Samantha Levin. She teaches at universities across the country, including NYU, University of the South, Pace University, and UNC Chapel Hill. She has been fortunate to be supported by The Sundance Institute, Hedgebrook, Ojai Playwright’s Conference, and New York Theatre Workshop.
