Jan Levy Tranen

Jan Levy Tranen is making her New York debut as a lyricist with this production. She wrote the lyrics for the one act opera Night in Sarajevo, and wrote the lyrics and co-authored the book for the musical Crazy Mary, based on the life of Mary Todd Lincoln. Ms. Tranen studied lyric writing at the New School with Sheila Davis, musical theater writing at Midwest New Musicals Building Chicago and playwriting at Chicago Dramatists, and is a proud member of the Dramatists' Guild.
