Ann D. Shapiro joined the Steppenwolf Theatre Company ensemble in 2005. LCT: Domesticated. Broadway: August: Osage County (2008 Tony Award, Best Direction of a Play; also Steppenwolf and London), The Motherf**ker with the Hat (2011 Tony nomination, Best Direction of a Play; produced by The Public and LAByrinth). Other directing credits at Steppenwolf include The Motherf**ker with the Hat, Three Sisters, A Parallelogram, Up, The Crucible, The Unmentionables (also Yale Rep), The Pain and the Itch (also NY), I Never Sang for My Father, Man from Nebraska, Purple Heart (also Galway, Ireland), The Drawer Boy, Side Man (also Ireland; Australia; Vail, Colorado), Three Days of Rain, The Infidel. Education: Yale School of Drama, Columbia College Chicago. Recipient of the 1996 Princess Grace Award. Full professor in Northwestern University's Department of Theatre and has served as the director of the M.F.A. in Directing program since 2002.
